Calne Rotary Club – What’s happening?

Calne Rotary would like to update you all on how the Covid 19 virus is affecting our ongoing events.

Calne Rotary Bowood Fun Run

It is with regret that COVID-19 has clearly affected the events programme in the UK.

As a result the annual running of the 32nd Rotary Club 10km has been cancelled.

As there is no clear end of this situation, it has been decided that the event will not be hosted in 2020 in a physical form.

As the policy of the event is no refunds, and as a charitable organisation Calne Rotary Club are asking you to donate your entry fee and take part in the event as a virtual run.
Virtual Run Guidelines;
  • You take part in your own 10km run in your own time between the dates of Sunday 29th March 00:01 to Sunday 12th April 23:59.
  • You must send evidence of your run via email to virtualevent@lpsevents.co.uk by 15th April 2020.
  • Results will be published by April 20th at www.lpsevents.co.uk/results
  • On completion and submission you will be posted your race medal, and your result will be added to the rankings.

Your participation in the 32nd Annual Rotary Virtual 10km Run will allow donation to the chosen event charities;

Calne Welfare Charities  http://www.calnewelfarecharities.org
Devizes Assize Court Trust  https://devizesassizecourt.org.uk.

Calne Rotary Classic Car Run

Again due to Covid -19 and the need to minimise public gatherings we will postpone the Classic Car Run which was planned for Sunday 17th May 2020 and now hold it on Sunday 18th October 2020.

Calne Rotary Kids Out 2020

We are sure that this information comes as no surprise to you but the National Organisers for KID’S OUT has issued a recommendation that KID’S OUT this year should be cancelled due to COVID 19.
Our regional organiser and the ROTARY CLUB OF CALNE now advise you that KID’S OUT to LONGLEAT on 10th June 2020 will not be held this year and no alternative dates are anticipated.

End Polio Now!

President, Denise Addison and the Deputy Mayor dedicated a plaque in Castle Fields where 4,000 purple crocus corms were planted in September in respect of the Rotary campaign to End Polio throughout the globe.
